• When opening an older studio setup (pre-2.1) that contains the QuickTime instruments device, the new icon with the red circle does not appear. If you double-click on the device it will actually be set to off. If you then click OK the correct icon will appear.
• At times, the QuickTime Music Synthesizer may stop playing. We've seen
this happen when you quit the first OMS-compatible application you've
launched and continued to use another OMS-compatible application. To work
around this, open the OMS MIDI Setup dialog and click OK. This should
restart the QuickTime Music Synthesizer. Opcode is working with Apple to
resolve this problem.
Studio 5 and Compatibility States
• Currently, virtual controllers cannot be used in a compatibility setup.
• Opening a saved “compatibility state” will sometimes NOT restore the state.
Yamaha MU50 and MU80
When the MU50 or MU80 are connected directly to a Mac's serial port, they may be used as a dual port interface—thereby providing 32 MIDI channels. To do this you must tell OMS Setup you are using a MIDI Time Piece.
After choosing File>New Studio Setup and OMS has searched for interfaces, click the Customize button in the OMS Driver Setup dialog; then choose “MIDI Time Piece” as your interface type and make sure that only 2 ports are defined in the Studio Setup.
